3. Rikishi Runs Over Steve Austin For The Rock

"I did it for The Rock".

Those words from Rikishi became meme-like before that was even a thing. Wrestling fans have ripped the p*ss out of this swerve for 20 years now, and rightfully so. The big man claimed that he'd mowed down Steve Austin at Survivor Series 1999 because Samoan stars like Rocky were constantly overlooked in favour of guys like 'Stone Cold' and Hulk Hogan.

That bold declaration might've had some merit had The Rock not been the reigning WWF World Champion at the time. That...yeah, it sort of ruined Rikishi's point. This wasn't Rocky's first stint as champ either - he was enjoying his fifth stint with the top prize by October 2000, and would bag a sixth early the following year after dropping it to Kurt Angle.

Worse, as explored earlier, it was actually Triple H who won the big spot and feud against Austin. He was outed as the real evil genius behind the murder plot, meaning Rikishi's "I did it for The Rock" speech became even less logical.
