10 WWE Studios Movies That Lost Millions

8. Inside Out (-$3,800,000)

Triple H was surprisingly open about not wanting to star in the crime drama Inside Out in interviews promoting the movie. He replaced Dave Bautista, who was supposed to star in the movie until he decided not to re-sign with WWE when his contract expired in mid-2010. That is certainly an odd way to €œpromote€ a movie, but perhaps Triple H was aware that the movie was just as awful as The Chaperone. Like The Chaperone, Inside Out starred Triple H as an ex-con trying to stay out of prison. It featured his Blade: Trinity co-star Parker Posey, Oscar-nominated actor Bruce Dern, and veteran character actor Michael Rapaport, so the supporting cast was solid. But television director Artie Mandelberg didn€™t have a chance of making the generic crime story into a decent movie. Even with a lower budget than The Chaperone, Inside Out equalled its $3.8 million loss. Unfortunately for WWE Studios, Bautista€™s recent star turn in Guardians Of The Galaxy would have given the company an excuse to re-release Inside Out on DVD if he had been kept in the lead role. The best WWE can hope for at this point is that confused consumers will purchase this Inside Out on DVD by accident instead of next year€™s Pixar film of the same title when that eventually hits DVD shelves.
