10 WWE Super ShowDown 2020 Impulse Reactions

1. Bill Goldberg Vs The Fiend Bray Wyatt

The Undertaker AJ Styles
WWE/XFL

When would it have been "okay" for The Fiend to lose the Universal Championship?

At WrestleMania, to Roman Reigns in a match that might have seen 'The Big Dog' booed and a host of raging Twitter accounts with Wyatt. Beyond that, when he's had psychologically confusing matches with every major babyface, forcing them to "change" to keep a semblance of logic about the gimmick? Ever?

The match was p*ss-poor and Goldberg is north of 50, but a 'Show Of Shows' match with Big Bill might result in a loud crowd, a few extra ticket sales and a micro-banger on par with his Brock Lesnar match from WrestleMania 33.

Bray Wyatt the wrestler has been around on this main roster since late-2010 with three separate gimmicks. Name five fantastic Bray Wyatt singles matches. Name five fantastic Bray Wyatt angles. Name five - no, four because yes his merchandise and those bonkers belts brought in an absolute fortune - times he was objectively over by the metrics WWE would chose to follow when it comes to making business decisions. Your writer is an unapologetic Bret Hart and Diesel mark but there's a reason Vince McMahon went looking elsewhere for his top guys in the mid-1990s...and those two actually had more than five fantastic matches and angles.

This stupid beleaguered character will be fine without the belt, because "fine" was the ceiling the second Hell In A Cell happened anyway. The whole thing was WWE-brand sh*t, but if you're only offended by the smell now, you've been watching with a peg on your nose since 2002 and for goodness sake just watch NXT and AEW on Wednesday Nights instead. They welcome your contribution to the ratings.
