10 WWE Superstar Gimmicks That Just Aren't Working

7. Titus O'Neil

Titus O’Neil once had some promise. That seems like long, long ago. When he was a heel in the Prime Time Players, he showed quite a bit of personality on interviews and on commentary. We were curious how he would do on his own. It was far, far worse than we could have imagined.

There was a good reason why Titus was stuck with a tag partner all this time; he just can’t put together a compelling singles match. His promo work of late has also ranged from highly suspect to downright embarrassing. His feud with Darren Young did both men no favors, so they were moved away from each other (after many painful weeks of the company trying to make it work).

Titus was then given a Titus Brand gimmick on the 3 Oct. episode of Raw, and then he immediately jobbed to Sami Zayn. That brand stinks.

Maybe WWE should keep O’Neil on as a brand ambassador, or maybe move him into a commentary role (he would immediately be an upgrade over David Otunga, and Byron Saxtron), just keep him far, far away from a wrestling ring.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
