10 WWE Superstars Who Came From Parts Unknown

2. Kane

The Big Red Monster may not have a recognized hometown today but early, he called Parts Unknown home. Or at least Pro Wrestling Illustrated called it home for him. One of the most enduring characters in WWE history, Kane's background has been muddied by inconsistent booking. First he was kept under lock and key in a basement somewhere by Paul Bearer. If that was the case, however, he likely would not have been allowed out of said basement for joyrides with his girlfriend Katie Vick. And how did he learn to drive? Was Katie locked in the same basement? Is that how they met? And what about Kane's fear of fire following the death of his mother at the funeral home when he was only a child? If he was really that afraid of the flame, would he incorporate them into his entrance the way he has for 20 years? He was horrifically burnt. Then he wasn't. How does that work? When one looks at the history of the masked Superstar and tries to figure some logical way to make sense of his convoluted back story and figure out exactly where he came from, it is much simpler to do as the company did early in his run and say, "he's from Parts Unknown" and leave it at that.

Erik Beaston is a freelance pro wrestling writer who likes long walks in the park, dandelions and has not quite figured out that this introduction is not for Match.com. He resides in Parts Unknown, where he hosts weekly cookouts with Kane, The Ultimate Warrior, Papa Shango and The Boogeyman. Be jealous.
