King of Trios 2012 may be remembered as the greatest CHIKARA show(s) of all time. It was one of those magical events where the stars align, and everything goes right. Part of that success has to be attributed by Maria Kanellis and Team ROH. Since leaving WWE in she has taken up the role of valet/manager to her real-life fiancée Mike Bennett and is now known as The First Lady of Ring of Honor. Bennett, along with The Young Bucks, tore through the competition at KOT 2012. They showed absolutely no respect when they faced The Faces of Pain (Warlord, Barbarian and Meng), and then the Extreme Trio (Tommy Dreamer, Jerry Lynn and Two-Cold Scorpio) They met the fan-favourite Japanese team team representing the Sendai Girls promotion in the semi-final, and it was a match that had the entire crowd captivated. While Sendai Girls came close, the dastardly team ROH eked out another victory and headed to the main event against CHIKARA mainstays The Spectral Envoy.
