10 WWE Superstars Guaranteed To Be Future Endeavoured In 2016

6. Alex Riley

If you thought that Alex Riley's transformation from commentator to the surprisingly jacked rival of Kevin Owens was going to lead to something, then you're not alone. He vanished from NXT programming after that short-lived rivalry though, and what the future now holds for him is hard to say. Actually, crap that, it's not. Riley's time with the company is surely going to wind down and end next year despite his brief resurgence. At 34, there's still a little gas left in the tank, but he's way past the point of becoming a main event level talent of any sort in the WWE at this stage. He's also limited to what he can do in NXT, and as entertaining as his rivalry was with Owens (99.9% of which was thanks to the then NXT Champion), Riley stuck out as a sore thumb in that promotion. He's the typical bland WWE Superstar of the early 2010s, and with his role as a commentator and pre-show analyst seemingly at an end, what's left for him to bring to the table in any respect is damn near impossible to fathom at this stage. With nothing left for Riley to do with the company, one of those dreaded Future Endeavoured press releases is pretty much a guarantee. There's nothing left for him in the WWE, so he'd be much better off working the independent circuits for a few years and making a name for himself there, rather than remaining on the sidelines here for the foreseeable future.
