Darren Drozdov was a high profile signing for WWF in the late nineties. He was well-known among football fans for his time with the New York Jets and Denver Broncos and an incident where he vomited directly onto the football before the center could snap it. The match was broadcast on Monday Night Football, and Droz became known as the guy that can vomit on command. WWF embraced this strange skill when he joined them, and as you can see in the film Beyond The Mat, he was initially developed under the name Puke. He eventually went by Droz, and was involved in a really uncomfortable story where he was revealed as the enabler of Road Warrior Hawk's real life substance abuse problems. His career was tragically cut short when on a SmackDown taping in 1999, D'Lo Brown gave him his signature running powerbomb, but something went wrong and Droz landed on his neck. He fractured two discs in his neck and has been quadriplegic ever since. Droz blames the baggy t-shirt he was wearing not giving D'Lo enough grip, and he says he didn't jump high enough, but D'Lo attributes it to a freak accident that could happen to anyone at any time. Droz remains employed by WWE, and a few years ago had a regular column on the website.
