Remember when WWE had their own version of ECW and they actually treated it like it mattered? It was an interesting time to say the least. Several ECW originals mixed with numerous young wrestlers in what was originally a good addition to Raw and SmackDown during the brand split. Elijah Burke was introduced as the future of WWE by Vince McMahon himself. It seemed like the former boxer had been granted an early advantage by leading his own stable, but it soon became clear that Burke would never ascend higher than mid-card status. CM Punk overtook him as the breakout star of ECW and Burke eventually ended up in TNA as The Pope D"Angelo Dinero.. TNA even did the same thing by pushing him early in his run and then virtually abandoning him for no reason. Burke was a decent hand in the ring, but he was given too much exposure before he knew how to properly navigate the waters in WWE.
I have been a writer for Bleacher Report for several years, and am now happy to also be a writer at What Culture! I do my best to contribute anywhere I can in a positive way, and that includes in my writing. Some people call me The Doctor, but Chris is fine.
