Almost everyone else featured on this list was taken to that next level in WWE from working against Randy Orton in the ring, whereas Cody Rhodes learned a lot from working alongside him.

Rhodes got off to a solid start in WWE through teaming with Hardcore Holly, though their partnership and his one-dimensional babyface persona at the time were only going to get him so far. His subsequent heel pairing with Ted DiBiase and eventual alliance with Orton, on the other hand, was what really brought out the best in him.

DiBiase was always thought to be the ultimate breakout babyface of their trio, but Rhodes refused to be overlooked. He graced many main events on Raw, SmackDown and on pay-per-view thanks to The Legacy and even knocked off D-Generation X in a major upset at the one-and-only Breaking Point event.

Once The Legacy went their separate ways, Rhodes managed to remain relevant and made a name for himself as a singles star over on SmackDown. By the time he and his former mentor finally feuded in the fall of 2011, he had evolved exponentially as a performer and came across as an equal to Orton in every one of their encounters (in addition to winning some of them as well).

Without Orton's guidance and assistance in attaining such a level of super stardom, it's quite possible Cody would have never become the success story he is today as one of the founding fathers of All Elite Wrestling.
