It was a heartbreaking end to a career that had its fair share of ups and downs but was at its peak. Gurrero was a hero to millions of fans who appreciated his ability to entertain the fans and bring unbridled emotion to his performances. Just five days earlier on SmackDown, Guerrero won his final WWE match, defeated Mr. Kennedy via disqualification after pulling one of his lie, cheat and steal fakes. It was classic Latino Heat, at a time when he was engaged in a main event program with Batista. Unfortunately, the fans would never get to see the legendary second-generation star win a second heavyweight title. When asked about the feelings he had about being Guerrero's last opponent at WWE's WrestleMania 22 "Bacon, Bagels and Brunch" Q&A, the often arrogant Kennedy dropped character and spoke of what an honor it was to battle the much-respected performer, hammering home just how much Guerrero meant to the boys in the locker room as well as the men, women and children in the stands.
