10 WWE Superstars Who Failed To Rejuvenate Their Careers In NXT

9. Drew McIntyre

There was no one with more wasted upside in the last several years than Drew McIntyre, a Superstar who was largely marginalized during his WWE tenure. He was pushed aggressively from the get-go as Vince McMahon's "Chosen One," but after dropping the Intercontinental Championship in 2010, he was never again featured as prominently on the card.

By 2012, he became a regular on "WWE Superstars" and showed no signs of escaping wrestling purgatory, so there was no harm in him making his way over to the recently revamped NXT. There, he was featured on the first few episodes of the developmental show and mixed it up with the likes of Seth Rollins, Richie Steamboat and Adrian Neville, working a regular on the program for the latter half of the year.

In time, it became clear that he was only there to help get the younger guys over and not receive a shot at super stardom himself. He spent the rest of his career as a member of 3MB before being released in June 2014.
