10 WWE Superstars Who Must Retire In 2017

8. Goldust

The return of Dustin Runnels aka Goldust to WWE in 2013 was a revelation. Tagging with his brother Cody, Goldust looked like he hadn't lost a step inside the ring and his work was more crisp than the majority of the younger guys on the active roster.

Sadly, since 2015 when Goldust split away from his brother, he's very much been treading water in WWE. Quite frankly, he deserves a hell of a lot better than a comedy tag team with R-Truth who are essentially nothing more than jobbers.

While it would have been nice if Goldust could have wrestled Cody Rhodes in his last match at WrestleMania - that obviously can't happen now with Cody leaving WWE for pastures new - we still think 2017 is probably a good time for Goldust to step away. While he is still fantastic in the ring and we'd be happy to see him continue, it's clear that WWE don't have big plans for him. After all, why be a bit part player when he can return to being an agent for WWE and make a difference that way?
