Upon his debut in the WWF in 1992 it looked as though Kevin ‘Nailz’ Wacholz was being earmarked for something special.

Although his introductory feud with the Big Boss Man didn’t light any fires, it transitioned him into a significant programme with the Undertaker. The fans were into their staredown; the announcers sold it like the commission was feeding their families. No one could mess this up except Wacholz himself. And who’d be stupid enough to…

Right. Few people have ever sh*t on a promising job opportunity quite so spectacularly.

Wacholz had been a top heel in the AWA, and was convinced he was worth more money than he was being paid. Cornering Vince McMahon in his office, he lost the plot berating him at length and at volume before suddenly knocking him out of his chair and choking him on the floor. He had to be pulled off by Sgt Slaughter, which is a mental image you will now have to live with for the rest of your lives.

Insanely, that’s not far off what Nailz told the police when they arrived - he claimed he acted in self-defence after McMahon tried to sexually molest him. No charges were ever filed, but Wacholz wasn’t done with his bizarre career immolation, later conspiring with the federal government to accuse McMahon of giving him steroids.

The reason the jury didn’t believe him? He was too vindictive, and so lacked all credibility. Haterz gonna hate, Nailz gonna nail Nailz.
