Mickie James has been hot and cold since her re-debut with the WWE main roster in early 2017. While her return has seen high peaks and low valleys, she has always been consistent in the ring and on the microphone. Though her brightest years as a superstar are likely behind her, that’s to take nothing away from her tenacity as a competitor still. The former six-time Women’s title holder has seen a lack of storyline-driven feuds of late, but her ability to stay consistent has kept her afloat throughout.

Unfortunately for this storied veteran, her opportunity to gain a spot in the coveted ladder match passed her by when she was defeated by Alexa Bliss during a triple threat qualifying contest. While Bliss was able to win the match, it could be argued that she’s in no need of another opportunity at WWE gold -- already holding a women’s title on four occasions.

In fact, despite her years of competition, Mickie James has never competed in a Money in the Bank match. A spot in the second-ever women’s ladder match at the pay-per-view would have allowed Mickie to again rise to the top of the division and showcase her unchanging abilities to the WWE Universe.
