10 WWE Superstars Who Tried Their Hand At A Music Career
7. Michael Hayes
As a member of The Fabulous Freebirds, Michael Hayes exuded that Southern rock and roll lifestyle of the 70s. It was like every member of Lynyrd Skynyrd had been rolled up into a rebel flag and taught how to wrestle. But that's the thing about wrestling gimmicks...they're just that: gimmicks. Just as you shouldn't trust Irwin R. Schyster with your taxes and you wouldn't choose The Goon as your goalie against Wayne Gretsky, there's no reason to expect a rock classic from Michael Hayes. It's clear that Hayes (backed by the nondescript Badstreet Band) wanted to be George Thorogood, but much of Off The Streets sounds like a bar band whose lead singer is too drunk to remember the words to his own songs. Between Hayes' hernia-induced wailing and a band that can't decide whether they're playing country rock or watered-down prog, this is a good reminder that attitude and appearances aren't everything. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nM3RRaHMIBQ
