There's a point to this. Jeff Hardy has gone on to wrestle in TNA, that's common knowledge. But if he had managed to stay on the straight and narrow for the duration of his spells in WWE, he'd be one of the biggest stars of the modern era. Heck, he already is - but Hardy could have gone on to so much more. He was part of one of the stand out tag teams of the Attitude Era with his brother, Matt, and was just making his way as a singles competitor when he was initially released in April 2003. The problems? Drug abuse, late shows, no shows and just generally non-exemplary behaviour. As he attempted to get himself straight, Hardy spent three years on the indies and with TNA, but came back to WWE in 2006 to finally deliver on some of the awesome promise he'd shown in his first stint. Interspersed with Wellness Policy violations came championship reigns; with Intercontinental, World Heavyweight and WWE Championship victories all coming over the course of his three-year second stint. Hardy had a taste of the biggest moments in the business over that time, but eventually fell away looking to recover from a series of injuries. He hasn't been back since, but there's still hope. Albeit slight hope.
