10 WWE Superstars Whose Careers Were Shortened By TLC
6. CM Punk
Punk is a bit of a veteran when it comes to the TLC concept. He has taken part in three matches and has won all of them. Creative wasn't lacking in this respect, was it Punk? His first appearance came when he won the World Heavyweight Championship from Jeff Hardy at SummerSlam 2009. Punk would then beat The Miz and Alberto Del Rio to retain his WWE Championship in 2011 before defeating his good friend Ryback last year to once again retain his title. Punk made it very clear that working these types of matches with superstars like Ryback left a bitter taste in his mouth. He recalls Ryback trying to slam him through a table and missing on purpose, in his eyes. First night out, hes supposed to gorilla press me through a table f*cking misses the table. Dumps me on the f*cking concrete ground. Tilts my f*cking pelvis. F*cks me up for weeks. I walk up to him and go, You cant tell me you didnt do that on purpose because youve done it so many times now. Youre either dumb as f*ck and you suck or you did it on purpose. And he was like, Im dumb as f*ck. Im sorry." Injuries were one of the main reasons Punk cited for his departure and they were directly related to TLC, justifying his place on this list.
