10 WWE Superstars You Didn't Know Were In TNA

6. Jake “The Snake” Roberts

Over the course of his career, Jake “The Snake” Roberts has been just about everywhere of note in pro wrestling in the United States: from World Class, Mid-South and Jim Crockett Promotions to WWF, WCW and ECW.

With that in mind, it should come as no surprise that the WWE Hall of Famer also slithered into TNA for bite of the action in 2006. Although his in-ring days were long behind him, “The Snakeman” from Stone Mountain was the perfect man to serve as special referee in the “Monster’s Ball” match at Bound For Glory.

The bout itself consisted of the highly combustible elements of Samoa Joe, Abyss, Brother Runt (Spike Dudley) and Raven. The hardcore history of each man was well documented and Jake had his work cut out for him trying to maintain order between these rowdy wildmen.

TNA was a legitimate alternative to WWE at the time and the action displayed, although messy and sloppy at times, was pretty enjoyable. Roberts himself would inevitably become part of the action too, proving to Raven just who the real master of the DDT was.

With Raven’s brains left scrambled courtesy of Roberts, Samoa Joe would capitalise and hit a Muscle Buster for the three, gleefully counted by Jake.
