Aside from his infamous nWo heel turn in 1998, one of the greatest babyface professional wrestlers of all-time, The American Dream Dusty Rhodes did, in fact, portray a heel during his time with WWE.

It didn't happen during his first run with the company way back in the WWWF days, and it didn't even happen during his most infamous WWF run from 1989 through early '91 where he sported the polka dots. No, The American Dream portrayed a heel as late as 2009 when he helped Cody, as part of the Legacy faction, attack rivals John Cena and D-Generation X.

Though short-lived, Rhodes' heel turn came about to aid his son Cody, but lasted merely seconds once the leader of Legacy, Randy Orton, gave The Dream an RKO for his troubles.

Two years later in the lead up to WrestleMania XXVII, Dusty once again had secretly aligned with his son when he helped Cody deliver a sneak attack on Rey Mysterio.

The next few times we would see Dusty would be as if those heelish actions never took place, but the fact of the matter is that, despite all of his success and popularity, The Dream did play a villain for the briefest of moments in the latter years of his career.
