10 WWE Tag Teams That Never Feuded

4. The Brain Busters

Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard only spent a brief spell in WWE, but the pair of Horsemen were true teammates, tag team specialists who were more than capable of illustrating how great the medium can be, and who you’d never dream of splitting up if you had any sense.

The Brain Busters have an undefeated streak at WrestleMania (comprising one appearance, but still), and can claim match of the night at SummerSlam 1989, putting on a clinic with the Hart Foundation. They were Pro Wrestling Illustrated’s tag team of the year for 1989, almost the entirety of which they spent with WWE, and even managed a run with the belts under the auspices of Bobby Heenan.

The true spirit of camaraderie emerged when Tully Blanchard failed a drugs test in late ‘89. He was let go; Arn wasted no time in leaving WWE (where he was never quite the right fit) and returning to the NWA.

The Brain Busters were effectively over from this point, with the NWA unwilling to take a punt on Blanchard, but the two are tag team royalty, hall of famers as part of the Four Horsemen, and enduring inspirations to the likes of FTR.
