One of NXT’s most popular tag teams actually began as polar opposites.

As news circulates that Jason Jordan’s in-ring career may be over, it’s incredible to believe that the young athlete has actually been a part of WWE since 2011.

A perennial jobber in NXT, Jordan’s fortunes were turned around when he was paired with newcomer, Chad Gable, in 2015.

Following the dissolution of Jordan’s team with Tye Dillinger, Gable persistently bugged Jordan to form a team with him. After months and months of Gable harassing Jordan, the two finally coupled up and would go on to win the NXT Tag Team Championships in developmental and the SmackDown Tag Team Championships upon their main roster call-up.

Let’s not talk about that part where Jason Jordan was revealed to be the illegitimate son of Kurt Angle and got drafted to Raw, which broke up the team for no good reason.

Gable and Jordan’s coming together story was so much fun and their rise to stardom in NXT was a joy to watch. It’s sad to see what happened to American Alpha, what with Gable now teaming with Bobby Roode on Raw and Jordan possibly out of action for good, but we’ll always have the memories of this hilarious storyline and those fantastic months in developmental.
