The path taken by Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas was almost the exact opposite of that taken by Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder half a decade later.

Instead of coming in as faceless developmental rookies and then being taken under the wing of an established main event star, the duo were introduced from the outset as Team Angle, a pair of accomplished amateur wrestlers brought in by Paul Heyman to help the Olympic Gold Medalist fend off challengers for his WWE Title.

But after Angle decided he no longer needed their help, they rebooted under the name of "The World's Greatest Tag Team" - the major difference being that they now sported all-red singlets, instead of the America-themed ones worn by their leader.
