10 WWE Things To Be Excited For Post-WrestleMania 33
5. Brand-Specific PPVs
The overcrowded nature of WrestleMania may make it feel like more of an extravaganza, but in turn it feels less like a true wrestling card. This is made even more obvious in the wake of the brand split, with WWE's event calendar making a radical change.
In September, October and December of last year, WWE presented 'competing' events from each of their Raw and SmackDown brands. Initially fans balked at the over-saturation of content, but still found themselves tuning in to see the development of the corresponding storylines. The quality of these shows varied wildly, but this allowed fans to hone in on the wrestlers and developments they most wanted to see. It's a lot harder to wade through the many hours of WrestleMania just to see the matches you're interested in.
The brand-specific events will likely continue post-'Mania.
Let's just hope they're more 'Backlash' and less 'Fastlane'.
