9. Ricochet Is Squashed

Brock was involved in another skippable title defence almost 18 years later.

Ricochet stepped up to the plate in February 2020 and...didn't do a very good job on the mic of convincing anybody that he was the guy to take down Lesnar. No, this isn't an in-depth takedown on Rico's promo skills, but he definitely didn't do himself any favours by weakly failing to rally fans behind him before Super ShowDown.

Come bell time, Ricochet was surely bummed out when he heard that his big night would last a mere 90 seconds. The high flyer would've been hoping to showcase his dazzling aerials in Saudi Arabia, but he'd flown all the way out there to play jobber to the stars for Brock. This was latter-day Vince McMahon booking at its worst, and it's understandable if people have erased it from their brains.

It was like someone was playing WWE 2K24 and set the momentum gauge to fill after just a few power moves. One finisher later, and that was curtains for Rico's WWE Title challenge. Good lord, what a pointless waste of everybody's time this sort of thing was.

Ricochet's promos weren't great, but how was he supposed to get over with this creative?!
