Thanks to Enzo Amore, there may be a broader purpose to the sudden union of Cedric Alexander and Rich Swann other than the fact that they both already had matching trunks to wear for such an occasion.

In defeating Jack Gallagher and The Brian Kendrick, the pair seemed a lock to lead the charge against the 'Smacktalker Skywalker' and his new gang of fame-chasers leading into the Survivor Series in what should presumably the Cruiserweight Division's token contribution to the Thanksgiving classic.

All four deserve to be in the team on evidence, as this match was perhaps the finest exhibition of the division's potential ever committed to WWE pay-per-view not featuring the recently departed former champion Neville.

Frustratingly, it fell victim to the purple haze creating a fog around the empty chairs of those choosing that exact moment to buy popcorn. A concise and engaging effort played out to near silence as per usual, great wrestling is simply not the magic solution to WWE's 205-and-under malaise. The company at least went some way to redressing the balance in the title match later on the show, but until they abandon the concept altogether, creditable tag battles like these will be forgotten as they're even happening. Anyway, the babyfaces won after about eight minutes...didn't they?
