10 WWE Tweaks Triple H Needs To Make Quickly

2. Remove Adam Pearce

The role of an authority figure within a professional wrestling company is played out to an extent, but there ways of doing it that don't ruin the show.

As part of the Authority, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon suffocated the show and undermined so many stars that it became dull as opposed to exciting. In AEW, Tony Khan rarely makes an actual appearance (which isn't a bad thing), but his authority is spoken of. Sometimes, the wrestlers book the matches, which also makes little sense.

Triple H has nailed this role before. But he didn't perform it.

As General Manager of NXT, William Regal perfected the role of what a modern authority figure could be; a wildly respected veteran who commanded respect from his in-ring career, but also had the toughness to dish out a slap if needed. Regal never overstepped his boundaries, never made himself the focus of attention (unless a certain stipulation was on the horizon) and always felt like his word was final.

In Adam Pearce, WWE has an authority figure with no authority, who flitters between face and heel and who gets bullied by the superstars. WWE has never made clear his role, who grants him the authority to make decisions or why he is there in the first place.

It's time for 'Scrap Daddy' to be moved on, and if Triple H is looking for a Regal-esque figure to step into the role of the modern GM, then he need only look in the mirror.
