10 WWE WrestleMania Losers That Won Long-Term

8. Bret Hart (WrestleMania 9)

"The Hitman" was stunned to learn a mere 48 hours before the pay-per-view that he would be dropping the WWE Championship to Yokozuna. The additional storyline that would see Hogan immediately dethrone Yokozuna only made Hart's head spin, and it crushed his spirits. He was determined to prove that McMahon had backed the wrong horse. While Hart remained as hard-working as always, Hogan disparaged WWE while touring Japan that May. His title win proved to be an undeniable flop. McMahon's attempt to repurpose Lex Luger as his new Hogan also proved to be a colossal failure. At WrestleMania X, Hart regained the title, appropriately from Yokozuna, while a more-sensible McMahon, on commentary, proudly proclaimed Hart the leader of WWE's future. Hart was always reliable, and the boss learned it through trial and error.
