10 WWE WrestleMania Matches That Had To Follow Something Infamously Terrible

5. Hulk Hogan Vs. Mr McMahon Following Triple H Vs. Booker T

Triple H defeated Booker T at WrestleMania XIX and you know how it happened, know all the reasons why it's utterly abhorrent and know that even WWE would probably go back and change it if they could, the stupid myopic pr*cks.

Astonishingly, it took Vince McMahon and Hulk Hogan's smoke and mirrors triumph to quickly wash away the taste of turgid tunnel-visioned booking. Working as if his son-in-law had brought the crowd down just for him, McMahon was in spectacular form getting to live out his 1980s fantasy as the Andre/Bundy/Earthquake-esque destroyer of Hulkamania. Dominant in small doses, he took just enough of the match before 'The Hulkster' made his own immaculately timed period of sustained offense count.

A protracted finishing sequence that pretty much began with that famous shot of The Chairman emerging from hell itself and also factored in Roddy Piper was the perfect way to tee up a red-and-yellow WrestleMania victory that mirrored his wins of old. Having sat through the pile of sh*t that came before it, fans in Seattle didn't just want this win - they needed it.

Hulk Hogan - HULK HOGAN - as a tonic for bigotry, there, just in case the world wasn't already going insane enough.
