10 WWE WrestleMania Moments That Meant NOTHING In Hindsight

'Vanilla Midgets' making melts of McMahon's men in Madison Square Garden, Chris Benoit and Eddie Guerrero's shared title celebrations were supposed to embody everything about WrestleMania XX's 'Where It All Begins, Again' marketing campaign. A brand revitalised by all that made it good in the first place. Within three years, the scenes would never be shared again.

Guerrero and Benoit may have died in completely different circumstances, but it's almost impossible to separate the pair upon viewing how much the confetti-strewn conclusion meant to both. In life following Eddie's death, Benoit confessed to suffering significant mental health challenges that almost certainly contributed to the cocktail of chaos bouncing around his battered brain the weekend he took the life of himself, his wife, and his child.

That Eddie didn't go dark before fading to black has at least allowed the organisation to lionise 'Latino Heat', but not perhaps in the way they'd wish. Guerrero's legacy exists through those he inspired alone - Sasha Banks and others have shared their memories of his success spurring them on, but his grand WrestleMania moment remains permanently shelved along with the back catalogue of the man he stood alongside.
