Kalisto is a talented high-flying luchador who suddenly finds himself alone on SmackDown. His tag team partners in Lucha House Party, Gran Metalik and Lince Dorado, were drafted to Raw. This could be a golden opportunity for Kalisto to finally establish himself as a solo star, but he will be lost in the shuffle if WWE doesn’t allow him to reinvent himself.
When Kalisto debuted on the main roster back in 2015, he was looked at as the next Rey Mysterio. He has yet to make that leap, but defeating Mysterio would put him on the fast track. A SmackDown feud between Kalisto and The Mysterio Family has the potential to help WWE establish both Kalisto and Dominik Mysterio as rising stars.
The student who becomes jealous of his mentor’s son would be a compelling story. Kalisto could reach out for Rey’s guidance but turn on him after feeling passed over in favor of Dominik.
