You knew this guy was gonna be number one as soon as you clapped eyes on the main image, eh? It was a given, especially after what just happened to poor Austin Theory. To recap, he's been an afterthought since his "daddy" (Roman Reigns' words) retired over the summer.
Triple H had Theory tease MITB cash-ins on several pay-per-views, then ditched that for thoughts Austin might trade the briefcase for a run as NXT Champ. After that, Theory cashed in on Seth Rollins' United States Title and lost. Basically, his win on 2 July now means nothing.
'Why, Triple H? Why?!'.
Could Theory recover and become a main-eventer someday? Yes. He's only 25 and has limitless potential. Will that happen anytime soon? Nah. Trips just showed he's uninterested in pushing Austin right now - he made him look foolish on the biggest WWE weekly, after all.
Theory might be a bit p*ssed off about that.
