Pete Dunne is someone who will benefit big time from Vince's retirement.

McMahon had turned everyone's favourite finger-breaking Brit into a walking cartoon character. He was Butch, otherwise known as the scrappy little weirdo of The Brawling Brutes. It was...fine, but it didn't make the most of Dunne's obvious in-ring skills or background as a technician between the ropes.

Things are different heading into 2023. He's still Butch, but this version is more like the Dunne of old from NXT, and he's confidently showcasing everything those smaller crowds loved about his act in front of bigger arenas. It's really win-win for Butch and for Triple H.

Next year, one can see Butch spinning out of his current tag-team alongside Ridge Holland into a singles role. He might never be a tippy-top guy in WWE, but the former 'Bruiserweight' can grab either the Intercontinental or United States Title and hold one of those belts with distinction.

In fact, Butch as IC Champ just sounds right.
