Let's give Stephanie McMahon and Triple H their due here. Without the backing of The Authority, it's improbable that Seth Rollins would have become a solo star so soon after cutting ties with the Hounds of Justice in 2014.

That said, towards the end of The Architect's run there was a slight sense that he become over-reliant on them for favours. They were no longer just giving him a leg up, but instead letting him climb on their backs to get to the top.

Before long, Seth seemed to be less a promising young prospect around whom they planned to build the WWE empire and more a pawn in their game. He started getting told off by Stephanie backstage for doing or not doing something she had requested.

Thankfully, the Shield man did manage to level the scales eventually, knocking his former boss off the apron - and through a well-placed table on the outside - during his cathartic showdown with The Game at WrestleMania 33. But that was probably too little too late.
