At Extreme Rules 2019, Bayley defeated Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross to retain the SmackDown women’s championship. At Extreme Rules 2020, Bayley defeated Nikki Cross to retain the SmackDown Women’s Championship.
Do you see the issue? It’s a shame we knew the result each time because they never tried to build up Cross in any way against Bayley. It was a pointless feud every time. Bayley has fought Cross countless times in the 18 months that she’s been SmackDown Women’s Champion. Even when WWE mixed in Alexa Bliss it did nothing for the feud because it didn’t make any sense and we had seen it before. All of the women are so talented in their own way, so trying to find something for each of them away from one another shouldn’t be hard.
There is no reason for any future matches in 2021. The two are drafted away from one another which is perfect to mix it up with others in the meantime.
