4. Jeff Hardy
As a great of a performer as he was (and still is), one of the biggest knocks against Jeff Hardy during his WWE tenure was his tendency to get in trouble with the Wellness Policy. For someone who had as much potential as Hardy did, you'd think he would have kicked the weed habit early on in his career; unfortunately, that wasn't the case, or at least not until it was too late. It was excessive drug use and refusal to enter rehab that saw him dismissed from the company in 2003. After cleaning up his act in his time away from the squared circle, he was brought back to the company in 2006 and found success in tag team and singles competition. Unfortunately, Hardy let down officials and members of the WWE Universe when he violated the Wellness Policy and got himself suspended for 60 days, effectively keeping him off the WrestleMania 24 card. It was all but confirmed he was originally penciled in to win the Money in the Bank Ladder match that year before going on to win his first world championship; evidently, he couldn't have screwed up at a worse time. The Charismatic Enigma remained with the company for another year, winning the world title on three separate occasions and becoming one of the most beloved wrestlers in recent history. However, it's astonishing to think how much longer he would have lasted the main event scene had he not gotten himself suspended and leave when he did. Only days removed from officially departing the company, Hardy was busted for possession of anabolic steroids, cocaine, and various other substances, in addition to also being involved in one of the most embarrassing incidents in the history of the industry, wrestling a match all "drugged up" at TNA's 2011 Victory Road pay-per-view in the main event against Sting. Hardy has kept clean since then and has found peace in life as a father and husband.
