She loves hugs, but hates kendo sticks. That's enough to make Bayley a more three-dimensional character than many of her fellow professional wrestlers.

But, given that we are expecting to see the 28-year-old head up the women's division for the next decade, it's not unreasonable to demand of her a little more personality on the microphone.

Her promos - real and heartfelt though they are undoubtedly are - tend to make her come off a little meek and timid, a perception that her sudden aversion to physical force at Extreme Rules last month did little to change.

In all fairness, Bayley's character has been undermined as much by inconsistent (or otherwise strange) booking as it has bad mic work.
