8. Alberto Del Rio

When Alberto Del Rio was infamously fired for "unprofessional conduct" after an altercation with a WWE employee he claimed had made a racist joke, most people didn't expect to see the Mexican star playing his trade in the company's ring for quite some time.

However, just over a year after his departure, Del Rio was back in Vince McMahon's empire and was even gifted the United States Championship John Cena had been putting on a platform for months. By August of the following year, though, Del Rio had lost much of that returning sparkle, been suspended for 30 days due to his first Wellness Policy violation, and was eventually granted his release after growing tired of the empty promises WWE were making him regarding a main event push.

This made the decision to bring him back at all seem like a dumb one as WWE clearly had no intention of pushing him as anything more than an upper-mid-card heel or at the very best a body for Roman Reigns to steamroll.

Recently the former WWE star has been charged with aggravated kidnapping and sexual assault, so don't expect Vince McMahon and co to open their doors to Del Rio ever again.
