9. Nia Jax
If you want to seriously set the fans against you, there can be few better ways of going about it than putting one of their favourites out of action. In 2018 Becky Lynch was on the fast track to megastardom, an organic push gained through sheer charisma. She was all set to take on Ronda Rousey at Survivor Series, something of a dream match at the time.
These plans were scuppered by an errant punch from Nia Jax, breaking The Man’s nose and giving her a concussion that put her on the shelf. In retrospect this actually did wonders for Lynch, whose bloodied face tipped her over the edge as a badass, and led to fans clamouring all the more for her to headline WrestleMania, which she went on to do.
Less fortunate was Jax, who added to her reputation as an unsafe worker. Since then she has hurt Kairi Sane with a dangerous buckle bomb, leading to the move’s ban.
What’s more, while she’s by no means disastrous in the ring, neither is she a must-watch performer. All that combined is not going to put you in good stead with the fans.
