10 WWE Wrestlers Who Went On To Better Things
2. The Outsiders
Kevin Nash and Scott Hall were two of WWE's biggest stars in the early-to-mid '90s. Sure, Nash had failed as World Champion, but him and Hall were huge, marketable commodities, and would've likely anchored the company's main event scene for years had they stuck around.
They didn't, though. Hall and Nash weren't the first major stars to jump ship to WCW, but they were definitely the most impactful. United as The Outsiders, their 'invasion' of Nitro birthed the New World Order when Hulk Hogan was unveiled as the group's "third man" at Bash At The Beach 1996. What followed was one of the most famous storylines in wrestling history, with the black and white dominating all WCW programming for an extended period, spurring Nitro on to trounce Raw's ratings for 84 consecutive weeks.
Much of their success came from Nash's political sway, but The Outsiders achieved great prosperity. They held the WCW Tag Team Titles six times together, while Nash won the World Heavyweight Championship on two separate occasions. Hall, meanwhile, captured both the United States and Television Titles as a singles competitor.
Nash's politicking would eventually play a considerable role in WCW's demise, but him and Hall would've never achieved such power in WWE, despite his main event push.
