10 WWE Wrestlers Who Weren't Given Enough Chances

2. Gail Kim

Gail Kim is arguably the greatest female wrestler in the recent history of North American professional wrestling.

While names such as Trish Stratus, Lita, Molly Holly, Ivory, and Alundra Blayze are held on a pedestal by WWE and the company's Hall of Fame, none of those highly talented individuals were ever as good in-ring as Gail Kim. And to think, WWE only saw fit to give Gail Kim one solitary four-week run as Women's Champion during two spells with the company that spanned a total of nearly five years.

Instead, WWE chose to use Gail and her skills to make other far less impressive wrestlers look good at her expense.

After being released by WWE in 2004 as WWE looked to go in a different direction *cough* Diva Search *cough* with its women's division, Kim's eventual return to the company in 2008 saw her utilised to make stars of the likes of Maryse, Alicia Fox, Jillian Hall, and the Bella Twins. No disrespect to those women, but none of them are fit to lace Gail Kim's boots from an in-ring standpoint.

It is so, so easy to throw shade at TNA/Impact Wrestling for some of the things the company has done over the years, but one thing they did was realise just how great Gail Kim is. They afforded her the chance to reach a level on the card that matched her talent - and Kim and Awesome Kong had one of the greatest rivalries in the history of women's wrestling.

Gail Kim is somebody who helped change the perception of women's wrestling. But for WWE, they largely just used the Canadian to make others look better than they were.
