This is a fascinating entry as there was a time when you'd likely think "yeah, no duh" when hearing someone say that Matt Riddle would never be World Champion. The charismatic wrestler's open relationship with smoking marijuana combined with his goofy comedy would have anyone doubting his chances of finding main event success in WWE. But Riddle came damn close before the rug got pulled out from under him.

Riddle has been a consistently enjoyable and top-tier part of WWE programming for a while now, finding massive success alongside Randy Orton in RKBro and delivering a stellar feud with current World Champion Seth Rollins. This prestige led to plenty of rumours that Riddle had strong backing, with reports even claiming he was heavily considered to win the 2022 Royal Rumble.

Unfortunately, since then, he has fallen back into the pitfalls of many rising stars who get a chance in the spotlight only to fall back out of it. While he does great work, it's clear that the company has little faith in him as a title contender, which likely isn't helped by his multiple violations of the WWE wellness policy.
