10 WWE Wrestlers Whose Patriotism Limited Their Potential

3. Shining Stars

"Welcome to Puerto Rico, the shining stars of the Caribbean!"

You knew Primo and Epico were doomed to fail once you heard that at the beginning of their entrance music. And this is nothing new for them, either, but their Los Matadores gimmick was an even bigger bust. They pretended to be Spanish bullfighters when they were actually Puerto Rican! At least now they're not shying away from their heritage.

But what exactly is there worth booing about them? They're trying to sell me on a trip to Puerto Rico apparently, so wouldn't that make them babyfaces? Or should I boo them because I have zero incentive to care about them?

I was happy to hear they were getting repackaged, but as soon as I saw the vignettes, it was painfully apparent their latest character reset wouldn't be much better. They re-debuted on the main roster in May and have had only three televised matches, losing their first match as a team to Enzo Amore and Big Cass on July 25.

Carlito would be an excellent addition to the group, but even he might not be enough to salvage this dead duo.
