While he’s a former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion, Ron Killings has had phenomenal longevity in the wrestling world due to being, well, an idiot.

The R-Truth character is one who’s forever clueless, who always gets the wrong end of the stick, and who manages to confuse Johnny Gargano for Shawn Michaels. And when it comes to the Royal Rumble match, Truth had a moment to remember back in 2016.

As the 12th entrant in the Rumble, R-Truth arrived to find Kane, Roman Reigns, Chris Jericho, Kofi Kingston, Titus O’Neil, Ryback, and the debuting AJ Styles dotted around the ring. Rather than immediately enter the match and put the boots to any of these grapplers, though, R-Truth opted to pull a ladder out from under the ring.

Setting the ladder up in the centre of the canvas, Truth was left flabbergasted to find no WWE Championship or Money in the Bank briefcase after climbing this ladder. You see, the Charlotte native wrongly thought he’d entered a ladder match rather than the Royal Rumble. Oh, what is he like…

Instead, all that lay in wait for R-Truth was a swift elimination by Kane.
