For WCW fans, the Diamond Dallas Page who turned up in the WWF in 2001 was a shell of the DDP who’d become a hugely popular part of WCW programming and a three-time World Champion.

Through no fault of his own, gone was the cool-as-all-hell man who’d memorably defeated Randy Savage, gone was the badass babyface who went to war with the various iterations of the nWo, gone was the figure who’d pushed Goldberg to his absolute limits, and gone was the person who at one time was the People’s Champion. But while the creepy stalker and later insta-smiling versions of DDP fell flat for the New Jersey native, fans have still reacted strongly whenever Page has resurfaced on WWE programming in the years since his 2002 exit.

And man, did those fans react big when DDP popped up in the 2015 Royal Rumble. This was only a short appearance from the WWE Hall of Famer, being dumped out by Rusev after a couple of minutes, but we got some awesome-looking Diamond Cutters on Stardust, Fandango, and Bray Wyatt.

To know of the relationship Dallas Page has had with the Rhodes family over the decades makes it all the more special that the first person to face Page here - and eat the first Diamond Cutter - was none other than Cody Rhodes.
