Brock Lesnar and Bill Goldberg surely wouldn't agree that this is one of 'Mania's finest 15 minute segments, but Steve Austin might. 'Stone Cold' stood in the centre of the ring with a big ol' smile on his face as Madison Square Garden's hallowed halls echoed with chants deriding both Brock and Bill. Meanwhile, neither wrestler quite knew what to make of the frosty response to their powerhouse showdown.

Word had leaked that both planned to leave WWE after the event, so New York let them have it. The crowd totally rebelled on Lesnar vs. Goldberg to the point that it's become one of WrestleMania's most must-see disasters. Chants of, "You Sold Out" and the classic "nana na na, hey-eeeeey-eeeey goodbye" song (which Vince McMahon reportedly always loved) filled the cherished arena. At one point, Goldberg shouted over at Brock: "Screw these people", but there was zero chance of rescuing the situation no matter how hard they tried.

Austin was the only one in-ring with a smile on his chops.

You need to see this if you're a newer fan or skipped Brock vs. Bill because of the circumstances at the time. They'd more than make up for the nightmare come 2016 and 2017, but 2004's initial clash was fan rebellion 101. Somebody really should've seen this coming ahead of time once word got out that both were heading through the exit doors. Maybe someone did, but thought it'd be funny to see MSG perform a 20,000-strong takedown on two guys who were jumping off at the next stop.
