66. ‘Twice In A Lifetime’ Revenge For Cena (WrestleMania 29)

Rocky got the win at 'Mania XXVIII, so revenge was always going to be hanging right there in front of WWE and John Cena. 12 months on from crowing about "Once In A Lifetime", a rematch was made. This time, it'd be different. This time, the WWE Title was up for grabs; The Rock had beaten CM Punk at Royal Rumble, then successfully retained his belt at Elimination Chamber the next month.

Anyone hoping that Punk would rally to become part of a triple threat at 29 would be left crying into their 'Pipebomb' t-shirts. Vince McMahon was settled on a Rock vs. Cena rematch, and that was that. Unfortunately for Rocky, his body didn't want to play ball - he struggled through even more injuries than he had back at XXVIII. The Rock tore ab and abductor muscles mid-match, and even suffered a hernia. Ouch. Despite all of that pain, he was determined to do the right thing and give Cena his win (and the title) back.

A few out there could be disappointed that these back to back Cena vs. Rocky matches are placed where they are. Please remember the sheer volume of moments tackled here, as well as what general feeling towards them from hardcore fans was at the time. In 2012, many were torn (sorry, Dwayne!) on whether or not WWE needed to keep pounding this drum.

Money was one hell of a motivator though, and both 'Mania XXVIII and 29 proved to be cash-grabbing supershows. Besides, 'Big Match John' was always equalising and getting his win over Rock, right? It was practically surefire.
