Sasha Banks vs. Bianca Belair wasn't the first female headliner in 'Mania history. They missed that trick by two years. Being first place will count for something when it comes time to analyse what happened at 35, but for now...a better match. Yes, it's true. Sasha vs. Bianca was a sweeter watch bell to bell than its predecessor. Perhaps that had something to do with it being a straight up singles bout. Or, maybe Banks and Belair were just determined to improve on history.

There was a ton weight resting on the shoulders of both in 2021. The 'EST' and 'Legit Boss' knew they'd have to come up with something amazing or face derision from the entire wrestling world. The good news is that they delivered. Bianca whipping Sasha with her braid showed cunning ingenuity, so much so that not even Michael Cole screwing up the call for their finish could destroy the moment. Credit must go to a switched on Corey Graves for helping his mate out there.

Belair won her first SmackDown Women's Title (now the Women's World Championship) here. She's been a made woman ever since, and is surely using her recent tag-team with ex-AEW star Jade Cargill as a means to map out another assault on the top of the singles division someday. WWE can't keep the kind of talent Bianca has under wraps, let's be honest.

Nobody could've guessed back in 2021 that Banks would be over in All Elite as Mercedes Mone and Belair would be stuck in the tag ranks soon enough. They had one hell of a match. It was historically and culturally significant to both.
