Anyone concerned that WWE shouting on and off about a "women's revolution/evolution" throughout 2014 and 2015 would turn out to be temporary hype they'd get bored of needed 'Mania 32. 2016's pay-per-view ushered in proper, effective change for the women's division by doing away with the tired Divas Title tag and replacing it with the far more distinguished Women's Title.

Lita, who had flown the flag for Divas and progressive women's wrestling alike throughout her career, unveiled the fresh update then hunkered down to watch Charlotte Flair, Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch tear 'Mania a new one. All three turned in the greatest all female performance on the biggest show of the year to date. This was real, tangible progress that honoured the past whilst pushing forwards to the future, and people loved every second of it.

Better yet, each worker had something unique to offer. Flair had lineage in the biz due to her surname, Banks was a star attraction with mainstream appeal, and Lynch was the spunky grafter who hadn't quite found her calling but wasn't too far away. It was a match made in heaven, and it ruled to see NXT's developmental style play out in such a grand fashion at 'Mania.

Revolution was happening before your very eyes.

Critics of her work might not want to hear it nowadays, but Charlotte was the right pick to win as well. She was slightly ahead of Banks and Becky as a star attraction back then. It wouldn't be too long before everyone else caught up then surpassed Flair as all-rounders though.
