11. Neville - Ripley Bishop

In truth, fans of the Aliens movie franchise may doff their caps at this. Ripley Bishop may or may not be a less than subtle reference to the series, where Lord Bishop is the science officer of the Sulaco who is critical to the survival of Ellen Ripley, the character portrayed by Sigourney Weaver.

So Ripley Bishop may work on some level, but inside the squared circle certainly isn't one of those levels. It was one of the many names pitched to Neville when he first arrived in the company, and luckily it wasn't one that stuck. Adrian Neville didn't exactly whet people's appetites back in January 2013, but in hindsight the right decision was made.

Ripley Bishop sounds like a third tier character in a Jane Austen novel, a gardener who overhears Elizabeth Bennet talking to one of her sisters and tries to hold it against the Bennets, only to subsequently be removed from gardening duties. It certainly doesn't sound like a man that gravity might forget.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
